Rep. Duffy Messier named secretary of House Corporations Committee
|
STATE HOUSE – Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello has appointed Rep. Mary Duffy Messier (D-Dist. 62, Pawtucket) secretary of the House Corporations Committee. Representative Messier was also named Deputy Majority Leader and was reappointed secretary of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
The House Corporations Committee considers all legislation that relates to consumer protection, business regulation, property and casualty insurance and financial institutions.
The Committee on Veterans’ Affairs handles legislation impacting the lives of Rhode Island veterans and those currently in military service.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Representative Messier was first elected to the House in December 2009.
