The Legislative Press and Public Information Bureau assists legislators in dealing with media inquiries and the news media through press releases and news conferences. The bureau’s publicists also provide media counseling, compose opinion pieces and speeches and edit reports and other written material. The Bureau also enhances public access to this material by posting news releases and other material on the General Assembly’s web site.

The bureau also provides legislators with copying services for constituent and government correspondence, and prints and makes available to the public copies of all legislation introduced and considered in both chambers. Legislative Press also creates and prints topic-related brochures and materials, citations and memorials, commission reports and a wide variety of stationery items.

The bureau also keeps a newspaper-clipping file on each legislator and on matters of public policy.
