3/20/2023 MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee meets today and tomorrow to hear budget articles and department budgets
STATE HOUSE — The Senate Finance Committee will meet twice this week to hear testimony on articles from the governor’s proposed FY 2024 state budget (2023-H 5200) and department budgets.

The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).

Today, Monday, March 20 at 5 p.m. in Room 313 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the FY 2024 and FY 2023 Supplemental budgets for the Department of Administration.  The committee will also hear testimony on Article 1, Section 20, which relates to the Transfer to Large Systems Initiatives Fund, and Article 2, Section 9, which relates to State Funds by creating the Large Systems Initiatives Fund.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21 at the RISE of the Senate (approximately 5 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge, the committee will hear testimony on the FY 2024 and FY 2023 Supplemental budgets for the Department of Human Services and testimony on Medicaid Redeterminations from the department.  The committee will also hear testimony on Article 3, Section 4, which relates to the Veterans’ Cemetery, and Article 11, Sections 2 and 3, which relate to Department of Human Services leases in Middletown and Providence.
