4/12/2022 Rep. Casimiro and Sen. DiMario deliver legislative grants to the Pet Refuge
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Julie A. Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter) and Sen. Alana M. DiMario (D-Dist. 36, Narragansett, North Kingstown) presented two legislative grants totaling $2,000 to the Pet Refuge in North Kingstown.

“The Pet Refuge in North Kingstown does incredible work with poor animals that have nowhere else to go during instances of abuse or neglect.  We are proud to support this worthy organization that resides in our districts and we commend them for the selfless care they give to our pets without a home,” said Representative Casimiro and Senator DiMario.

Representative Casimiro’s $1,000 grant will be used for general operations and Senator DiMario’s $1,000 legislative grant will be used for veterinary care, specifically to spay and neuter kittens and cats to help address overpopulation.

The no-kill Pet Refuge is operated by the North Kingstown-Exeter Animal Protection League (NKEAPL), which was founded and incorporated in 1968.  Its mission is to provide a warm home for abused and neglected animals and also for those animals who can no longer remain in their homes for a variety of reasons.
