MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee to hear budget testimony on transportation and housing initiatives

STATE HOUSE — The Senate Finance Committee is scheduled to meet twice this week to hear testimony on the proposed state budget, particularly related to the Department of Transportation and housing initiatives.
The committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, April 5, at the rise of the Senate (about 4:30 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge on the second floor of the State House.
Members will hear testimony on the proposed state budget, relating to the Department of Transportation and the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. The committee will also hear budget proposals under the American Rescue Plan Act related to the Pawtucket/Central Falls Bus Hub Passenger Facility.
The committee will also meet Thursday, April 7, at the rise of the Senate (about 4:30 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge to hear budget proposals under the American Rescue Plan Act related to housing initiatives.
In addition to these two meetings, the Subcommittee on Human Services and Transportation will meet Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Senate Lounge to discuss the budget of the Governor’s Commission on Disabilities.
