3/9/2022 Media Advisory: House Environment Committee meets tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The House Environment and Natural Resources Committee meets tomorrow for hearings on a variety of bills.

The meeting is scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, March 10, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House. Among the bills on its calendar are:
  • 2022-H 7277 — Sponsored by Rep. Deborah Ruggiero (D-Dist. 74, Jamestown, Middletown), this bill would increase renewable energy production and supply by requiring that 100 percent of Rhode Island’s electricity by offset by renewable production by 2030.
  • 2022-H 7378 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) would institute a refundable 10-cent deposit for non-reusable beverage containers.
  • 2022-H 7786 — Sponsored by Rep. June S. Speakman (D-Dist. 68, Warren, Bristol) this bill requires that all lawn care devices have zero emissions by 2027, and a plan for such submitted to the House and Senate by 2023.
The meeting will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15 and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1061, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.
