3/7/2022 MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Committee meets three times this week to continue hearing budget articles, ARPA proposals and legislation
STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Committee will be meeting three times this week to continue hearing testimony on the FY 2023 (2022-H 7123) budget articles, American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) proposals and a variety of bills.

On Tuesday, March 8 at the RISE of the House (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the following ARPA proposals from Article 1 Section 16:
  • ERP Implementation Support
  • Blockchain Digital Identity
  • Radio Systems
  • Permit and Licensing IT
  • Tax Modernization
  • Aid to the Convention Center
On Wednesday, March 9 at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will continue hearing FY 2023 budget articles with the following articles:
  • ARPA Projects in Article 1 Section 16
  • Development of Affordable Housing
  • Site Acquisition
  • Down Payment Assistance
  • Workforce Housing
  • Affordable Housing Predevelopment
  • Home Repair and Community Revitalization
  • Predevelopment and Capacity Building
  • Homelessness Assistance Program
  • Homelessness Infrastructure
  • Statewide Housing Plan
  • Foster Home Lead Abatement and Fire Safety
The committee will also hear testimony on a resolution (2022-H 7556) sponsored by Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) which would authorize the appropriation of $300,000 to the Portsmouth Housing Authority.

On Thursday, March 10 at the RISE of the House (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will continue hearing FY 2023 budget articles with the following articles:
For all three hearings, individuals may testify in person before the committee at the State House. Sign-up sheets are available in/outside the hearing room.
Written testimony is strongly encouraged and may be submitted via HouseFinance@rilegislature.gov

Testimony will be posted on the General Assembly website: http://www.rilegislature.gov/Special/comdoc/Pages/HFIN.aspx.

The meetings will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15, and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1061, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.
