MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee to hear governor’s supplemental budget request
|
STATE HOUSE — The Senate Finance Committee is scheduled to meet Monday to receive an update from the governor’s administration on previously authorized business support programs and appropriations. It will also hear portions of the Governor's Supplemental Request to amend the 2022 budget relating to additional business supports.
The committee is scheduled to meet Monday, Nov. 1, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 313 on the third floor of the State House.
The request includes proposals for $12.5 million for small business grants, $10.5 million for technical assistance and technical infrastructure upgrades, $8.0 million for hospitality, tourism, travel, recreation, and cultural grants, $7.5 million for outdoor activity and ventilation/safe space investments, $3.0 million for “placemaking” initiatives, $2.0 million for tourism marketing and $1.5 million for administrative costs at Commerce RI.
Scheduled to testify are Joseph Codega, budget officer, Office of Management and Budget, Department of Administration; Dorothy Pascale, acting director, Pandemic Recovery Office, Department of Administration; Stefan Pryor, secretary, Executive Office of Commerce; and additional program support staff.
The Senate Finance Committee is chaired by Sen. Ryan W. Pearson (D-Dist. 19, Cumberland, Lincoln).
