9/3/2021 MEDIA ADVISORY: Rep. Ranglin-Vassell to host 500 Women Walk Against Gun Violence tomorrow at Central High School
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Marcia Ranglin-Vassell (D-Dist. 5, Providence) will be hosting a call to action and the 500 Women Walk Against Gun Violence tomorrow, Saturday, September 3 at 12 p.m. starting at Central High School in Providence.  The march will end at the State House at 3 p.m.

The march will draw attention to the unfortunate incidences of gun violence and homicides in the state, but particularly in the City of Providence.

“Gun violence is a public health issue that impacts all of us as Rhode Islanders. We must address gun violence that continues to traumatize our children and families,” said Representative Ranglin-Vassell.

The call to action will also ask that Governor McKee, Mayor Elorza and the General Assembly invest critical funding from the Rescue Act into small business development and support as well as providing more mental health and compassionate trauma informed care to impacted communities like Providence and other core urban communities like Woonsocket, Pawtucket and Central Falls.
