2/8/2021 Potter named to Health and Human Services, Corporations committees
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Brandon C. Potter has been appointed to the House Health and Human Services Committee and the House Corporations Committee, House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi has announced.

The Health and Human Services is a new committee this term, created by a division of the former Health, Education and Welfare Committee into two committees to better address the vast amount of legislation it handled. The Health and Human Services Committee will deliberate matters relating to the health care system, human services, children and families.

The Corporations Committee considers issues relating to financial institutions, business regulation, property and casualty insurance and consumer protection.

“I anticipate that these committees will both play an important role this year as we work to get past the pandemic. We have significant work ahead of us in healthcare, and I look forward to being part of creating a just economic recovery that puts people first and leaves no one behind,” said Representative Potter (D-Dist. 16, Cranston), who is serving his first term in the House of Representatives.
