2/3/2021 Knight named to House leadership posts
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Jason Knight will serve as a House deputy majority leader and has been named to several committee leadership posts for the 2021-2022 term, House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi announced.

Representative Knight (D-Dist. 67, Barrington, Warren) was named to the House Oversight Committee and will serve as chairman of its new Subcommittee on Administrative Efficiency. The Oversight Committee reviews the operation and efficiency of various state departments and agencies, fulfilling the legislature’s oversight duties. Its new subcommittees will enable the committee to sharpen its focus on issues before it.

Representative Knight will also serve as the second vice chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, which considers all bills affecting the penal code, judicial system, ethics, open meetings, access to public records and election laws.

Representative Knight previously served on both the Oversight and Judiciary committees from 2017 to 2018 term, and then again in 2020.

Additionally, he will be a member of the new State Government and Elections Committee, and will continue to serve as a member of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee, on which he has served since last year.

Representative Knight was first elected to the House in 2016.
