Rep. Solomon to chair House Committee on Corporations
|
 STATE HOUSE — Rep. Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (D-Dist. 22, Warwick) has been named chairman of the House Committee on Corporations by Speaker of the House K. Joseph Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick).
The Corporations Committee handles matters relating to financial institutions, business regulation, property, casualty and health insurance, technology, telecommunications and consumer protection.
“I thank Speaker Shekarchi for giving me this responsibility,” said Representative Solomon. “The Corporations Committee does important work deliberating some of the most complex bills in the General Assembly that have a broad impact on business owners and consumers. I look forward to working with my talented colleagues as we take up the task of studying bills that will play such an important role in our state during very difficult times.”
In addition to his position as chairman, Representative Solomon will serve on the House Committee on Oversight and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
