Representative Joe Serodio

Rep. Joe Serodio (D-Dist. 64, East Providence) was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2018. He is member of the House Committee on Health, Education and Welfare, the House Committee on Corporations and the House Committee on Small Business.

During his first term in the General Assembly, Representative Serodio sponsored a new law which protects seniors and qualified disabled adults from financial exploitation.  He also sponsored a bill that became law which requires private and public schools to provide and maintain opioid antagonists (Narcan) on-site.  Representative Serodio also sponsored legislation that would provide an income tax credit of 25 percent for taxpayers over the age of 65 who pay a water or sewer bill on their primary residence.
Representative Serodio is the President and General Partner of America Travel in East Providence. He graduated from East Providence High School in 1965
He is a member of the Holy Ghost Beneficial Brotherhood and the Holy Ghost Brotherhood of Charity in East Providence. Representative Serodio is a founding member of the East Providence Soccer Club and a past president of the East Providence Portuguese School. He is also a past board member of the Portuguese-American Scholarship Foundation and the Portuguese American Business Association.
Representative Serodio was born on May 31, 1945 and he resides in East Providence with his wife, Ana.
