Media Advisory: Plastic bag, bottle bill before House Environment Committee
STATE HOUSE – Legislation banning plastic checkout bags, plastic water bottles and polystyrene containers statewide is scheduled for a hearing Wednesday by the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
The hearing is scheduled Wednesday, June 21, at the rise of the House session (around 4:45 p.m.) in Room 205 on the second floor of the State House.
Among the bills before the committee is:
2017-H 5946 — This bill sponsored by House Majority Whip John G. Edwards (D-Dist. 70, Tiverton, Portsmouth) would prohibit retail sales establishments from making available to their customers plastic checkout bags, plastic water bottles or expanded polystyrene disposable food containers at the point of sale.
