STATE HOUSE – Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello (D – Dist. 15, Cranston) has appointed newly elected Representative Susan Donovan (D – Dist. 69, Bristol) to the House Committee on Health, Education, and Welfare as well as the House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.
"I am honored to have been appointed to the Health, Education and Welfare and the Environment and Natural Resources committees and I thank Speaker Mattiello and the rest of my colleagues for their vote of confidence to join these committees as a freshman legislator,” said Representative Donovan.
The Health, Education and Welfare Committee deliberates matters relating to the health care system, public education, human services and children and families. The House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources hears all matters pertaining to environmental issues, such as conservation, pollution, renewable energy and the green economy.
Representative Donovan is serving her first term in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, having been elected in November and sworn in last week.
