Rep. Azzinaro named Chairman of House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
|
 STATE HOUSE – Rep. Samuel A. Azzinaro (D-Dist. 37, Westerly) was appointed to the position of Chairman on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs yesterday by House Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello (D-Dist. 15, Cranston). The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs handles all legislation impacting the lives of Rhode Island veterans and those currently in military service.
“I am honored to have been appointed Chairman of the Veterans’ Affair Committee and I thank Speaker Mattiello and the rest of my colleagues for their confidence in my ability to lead the committee,” said Representative Azzinaro. “As a veteran myself, I know that the issues that come before this committee are of great importance in honoring and thanking our active service members and veterans for the sacrifices they have made to ensure our freedom.”
Representative Azzinaro was also appointed to the House Committee on Health, Education and Welfare, which deliberates matters relating to the health care system, public education, human services and children and families. He was also appointed to the House Committee on Rules, which considers all matters relating to the rules and operations of the House.
