Rep. Azzinaro receives Navigator Award from RI Farm Bureau
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Samuel A. Azzinaro (D-Dist. 37, Westerly) received the Navigator Award from the Rhode Island Farm Bureau at an awards ceremony Thursday night at the group’s annual meeting held at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. Representative Azzinaro received the award for sponsoring legislation (2016-H 7801) that defines incidental operation upon a highway for exempted farm vehicles and requires them to display "Slow Moving Vehicle" emblem when so engaged. The bill became law during the 2016 legislative session.
“I am deeply humbled and honored by this recognition from the RI Farm Bureau and I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” said Representative Azzinaro. “The farming community is an integral part of Rhode Island’s shared success and I look forward to continuing to work with the bureau to ensure Rhode Island’s farms thrive into the future.”
The Rhode Island Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization of farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve advancement and, thereby, to promote the national well-being. The Navigator Award was created to honor state legislators and officials who have been instrumental in helping the organization deal with and address concerns about government regulations and procedures.
