MEDIA ADVISORY: Sen. Nesselbush highlights Take Back the Night event on Wednesday
STATE HOUSE – Sen. Donna M. Nesselbush (D-Dist. 15, Pawtucket, North Providence) is highlighting a ‘Take Back the Night’ candlelight vigil which will be take place this Wednesday, October 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the front entrance of the Garrahy Judicial Complex at the corner of Friendship and Dorrance Streets in Providence.
The event is about changing misogynist culture and eradicating sexual assault and a candlelight vigil will be held in support of the Stanford rape survivor and all other sexual assault survivors. The Stanford rape survivor’s statement to Judge Persky will be read. Judge Persky recently sentenced the survivor’s assailant to only six months of prison time for first-degree sexual assault.
