Senator Sheehan secures legislative grant for Davisville Library, N.K. Food Pantry
STATE HOUSE — Sen. James C. Sheehan (D-Dist. 36, North Kingstown, Narragansett) has presented legislative grants to the North Kingstown Food Pantry and the Davisville Free Library.
“Both these organizations do so much for the people of North Kingstown,” said Senator Sheehan. “I was proud to secure this grant money to help them out with their successful and much needed programs.”
The North Kingstown Food Pantry received a grant for $1,500. The organization provides emergency food assistance and services to individuals and families in North Kingstown to help with short-term need and insure an adequate, healthy diet for their clients.
The Davisville Free Library received a grant for $3,500. The library collection includes a variety of current and classic resources, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as a genealogy collection of local family papers. The organization relies on donations to remain open and operating at the same level achieved since renovations that were made in 1999.
