Senator Sheehan secures legislative grant for Mettatuxet Improvement association
STATE HOUSE — Sen. James C. Sheehan (D-Dist. 36, North Kingstown, Narragansett) has presented a $2,500 legislative grant to the Mettatuxet Improvement Association. The grant money will be used to offset the expense of heating and other utilities in the community building.
“The Mettatuxet Improvement Association does a lot of work to promote boating and preserve the quality of the Narrow River,” said Senator Sheehan. “The organization is good example of a group giving back to the community, and I am glad that I could help by securing this grant.”
The Mettatuxet Improvement Association is a non-profit group in Narragansett with the goal of improving boating and that quality of the Narrow River. Their services include a marina for docking, lodge for rentals, and special community events.
