MEDIA ADVISORY: Legislators to help unveil study on minority recruitment, hiring practices among law enforcement agencies
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Joseph S. Almeida and other members of the General Assembly are expected to join the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers and the Providence branch of the NAACP Wednesday for a news conference to unveil a report on minority recruitment and hiring practices among law enforcement agencies in Rhode Island.
The news conference is scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 3 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House.
Representative Almeida, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Providence Branch President Jim Vincent, and National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers National Chairman Lt. Charles P. Wilson are expected to speak.
Members of law enforcement, media, and the general public are invited to attend this event. Copies of the final report of the study will be made available.
