Senate OKs Picard’s bill seeking right to ‘equitable, adequate and meaningful’ education in state constitution
The Senate today passed legislation sponsored by Sen. Roger A. Picard to place a question on the next statewide ballot asking voters to amend the state constitution to guarantee “an equitable, adequate and meaningful education to each child.”

Senate approves Gallo bills for universal pre-K, class size limits for primary grades
The Senate approved two bills sponsored by Senate President Pro Tempore Hanna M. Gallo to set Rhode Island on a path to offering universal free prekindergarten to 3- and 4-year-olds and expanding child care access for younger children, and limiting size of public classrooms from kindergarten through Grade 2.

The House and Senate today passed legislation introduced by Senate Majority Whip Valarie J. Lawson and House Majority Whip Katherine S. Kazarian to require regular monthly updates from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation on the state of the Washington Bridge.

Capitol TV launches app to livestream video on smart phones, Firestick and ROKU devices
Capitol Television, the broadcast arm of the Rhode Island General Assembly, has launched a new app that will allow users to stream live content on iPhones and Androids, as well as smart television devices, such as Firestick and ROKU.
